- Tom joined us. He is retired from the student health center at CU. Welcome.
- Elaine told us about the event they are doing in Ft. Collins on 12/12 for UN UHC day, bringing attention to the UN resolution for UHC around the world by 2030. Theme is “Keep the Promise”
- Ivan reviewed the document he and the strategy team are working on for defining Improved Medicare for All. There was quite a bit of discussion about this. Jon suggested that the reimbursement be a “multiple” of medicare reimbursement. We will attach a copy of the draft and welcome people’s input.
- ColoradoCare 2.0: Ivan reviewed what is going on with the planned 2022 ballot measure. He is also spearheading the writing of the ballot measure, along with an associated committee. Discussed how we are welcoming input from all those impacted including MPUHC members.
- Fundraising: Madi and Ivan reviewed current fundraising issues for the Foundation, and hope for monthly donations. Multiple causes and campaigns have dried up usual small donors. Please consider donating what you can monthly, which will stabilize our operating costs. We have the 100/100/100 campaign: 100 people giving $100/month for the 100%. The fundraising committee has offered several others way to give. Please check out the Foundation website or FaceBook page for options.
- Medical Professional PowerPoint: Jon has been pulling together slides from PNHP and Vince’s talks. Has been helping Laura Collins put together a presentation for a Christian conference in Texas to help promote UHC. Jon, Kristine and Madi will put together a template.
- Rick let us know that PNHP is hoping to put a page ad in the New York Times with 10,000 MDs signed on to support UHC. He will keep us apprised, and when ready, we’ll be able to share so folks can sign on. Details unknown as yet.
- Next MP4UHC meeting 1/6/20, 7pm on Uber conference.
