Help empower Coloradans with choice, access to health care

Health care costs all of us more than it should; 880,000 Coloradans don’t have health insurance; and rising costs are unsustainable for Coloradans, employers and government. We believe universal health care as proposed in the Colorado Health Care Cooperative offers a viable solution. The Foundation has compelling feasibility data to have confidence that this proposal would provide comprehensive health care for all residents in Colorado for equal or less money than we currently spend collectively on health care. You can help.

What will the Colorado Health Care Cooperative accomplish?

  • Pay for health care for all Colorado residents
  • Lower the total health care expenses for Colorado
  • Control the unsustainable increase in health care costs
  • Give Coloradans choice of provider
  • Transition to an efficient system that rewards positive outcomes for patients

Why can we do this now?

  • The Affordable Care Act (ACA) allows states to create their own improved systems
  • If the Supreme Court overturns the ACA, Colorado will need a working contingency plan
  • Vermont has shown that states can set up their own universal health care plan
  • Colorado has a prominent political leader, Sen. Irene Aguilar, M.D., leading the campaign

What is needed?

The Colorado Foundation for Universal Health Care needs $100,000 to hire consultants in health care economics to detail the costs for individuals and businesses based on defined benefits for health coverage. With this information, Coloradans could see how much their health care would cost with the Cooperative, and they could compare it to what they have now.

How can you help?

  • Please donate to the consultant fund. The Colorado Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable and educational organization. Both small and large donations help. Hiring the consultants is the next step.
  • Please make a donation to become a supporter of our sister, advocacy organization, Co-operate Colorado.

The sooner we have universal health care, the sooner you, your friends, your family, and your employees will be assured that they will have access to comprehensive, quality health care.
Thank you,
